Board-up after a fire
Unfortunately, sometimes a fire happens to a home or business that causes the structure to become so damaged that it is unsalvageable; therefore, unable to be cleaned. That is exactly what happened to the structure shown. To keep the house secured, the homeowner requested us to do a board up. The purpose of a board up is to cover/secure all open areas of the structure (due to fire damage, vandalism, etc.) to protect the remainder of the interior from further damage due to weather, robbery, etc--it also allows for efficient heating if there is a need. Because of the amount of damage the home experienced, power had to be turned off and we needed to supply the home with heat in order to safely get all the homeowner's contents out of the home to clean in our SERVPRO Warehouse.
